MEETING MINUTES
February 2007
David Walker, club president, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., welcoming
all members and guests present.
Dave Carlton, club treasurer, reported that we have on deposit $5,154.29.
Jamie Strong briefly reviewed the AMA Pilot Program with us. A club can offer flight instructions without the trainee paying club dues or AMA dues for 60 days. Jamie will be the instructor and maintain the required logbook. Other qualified instructors can also be designated for the program.
Jamie also mentioned that the program tonight will be the Spektrum DX7 radio. If anyone would like to they can borrow the DVD and return it to Jamie at a later date.
Jim Beam, club Webmaster and RAMMPAGE editor, reports that we have a new webpage. Use http://www.rammrcclub.com, or http://www.rammclub.com or the old page http://www.rammpage.com (all will re-direct to the rammrcclub.com site) The web host is working well and Jim will check in to having "blogs".
Gene Hannah, club consultant, stated that it is time to renew our Leader Club
status.
We have reached all requirements for having Gold Club status again. Medallions
or patches can be ordered for the membership. It was agreed to order the patches.
Gene also mentioned that we need to let AMA know if we want the last Friday
and Saturday of September for our Warbird Fly-in. The club voted to do this.
Between Jim Windham and Dave Carlton they will have 3 tables at Perry if anyone would like to sell anything.
David Walker updated the membership on what's been going on at the field. Jon Little and David cleaned around the shed. Only a few large things left. Dan Pope volunteered to carry off the large items on his trailer. This would include the old picnic table, etc.
Dan will also supply a generator and air compressor to use while working at
the field.
Need to clear out the lumber stored in the rafters of the pavilion and move
the birdhouses away from the pavilion. We want the birds, but they are making
a big mess in this specific area. David, club president and garbage man, asks
that we not use the garbage cans for crashed airplanes and fuel cans.
Cory Tanner's dad, Tommy, said that he would do some cleaning up of the road where rain has done its damage. This would be gratefully appreciated.
George Garzon brought a kit to give away and has given Dave Carlton several items to sell in Perry. All proceeds will go to the club. Thank you George for this kind gesture.
