MEETING MINUTES
August 2007
RAMM President David Walker called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Due to the
absence of Secretary Ed Sims, David read the minutes of the July meeting, and
the minutes were approved as read. David also gave an update on Ed's condition.
Ed is up and down, but overall the trend is toward improvement.
Dave Carlton reported the sad news that R.C. Kyzer has been diagnosed with cancer. R.C. will undergo chemotherapy very soon. (We will keep membersw posted on R.C.'s condition.)
Treasurer Jim Windham reported a balance of $5,115.92 in our account. Expenditures were $280.60 for July.
Vice President Jamie Strong reminded us of the Hamfest and RC Expo to be held in September. There is a $6 entry fee but that is waived with a table rental.
Safety Officer David Connelly urged us to take extra care in dealing with the extreme heat of late. And, as usual, stay away from those props.
Special Advisor to the Board Gene Hannah noted that Louis Overton's widow has some airplanes and other RC items for anyone who would like them.
Webmaster Jim Beam reminded us that the Swap Shop is up and running on the web. Anyone wishing to sell or trade items related to RC flying is encouraged to take advantage of this.
Bryant Faulk suggested that we get a quote from Sunflower Waste for the cost of removing garbage from the flying field. David Walker agreed to do that. Jim Beam reminded us that we need to get the "rough" around the field cut one more time before our Warbird event in September.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30.
