Chris Tomberlin - what, not an IMAC event?
Mose Stuart with a Stinger
Yes, with a buddy box
you can fly!
Great instructor too, thanks to Gene Hannah
J.T.: "See Mom, you can fly too!,
see how easy it is!"
"Now, can I get
that 40% Extra! hum hum please!"
J.T.'s little brother learning too,
thanks
again Gene for bringing the buddy box.
Dave Connelly and his
awesome triplane.
Dave: "Where's Snoopy? I want a dog fight!"
Jim Beam's Sig Kobra - rebuilt for the
3rd time.
Yours truly (Jim Beam)
speed machine. Recently rebuilt, this snake's 1st trim flight
was anything but tame (saved a near vertical pile drive at the end of the runway).
The 2nd flight resulted in a cool screaming fast flyby
down the center of the field at about 20 ft above the deck.
Even "Super" Dave Carlton said "grab your seats and duck for
cover" - Wow!
David Connelly said "it'd even go faster with a cowling ;)"
Yours truly (Jim Beam's)
reliable Stik 40,
- also a crowd pleaser.
Andy's biplane. Just
as awesome in the air
as on the ground - Andy still has the right stuff.
You just got to love the detail on this machine.
Preflight tune &
engine run up
"hold on Gene, she's got a lot of power!"
Ready for take off!
Andy wow's the crowd.
And a crowd we did have - take a look at all the planes.
J.T.'s Mom knows how
to tail gate. Check out the
cover over the Suburban's rear doors.
Pilot's pre-games meeting. Thanks Gene
for the setup.
David show's us just how to do the timed
glide.
Only 4+ minutes with no power & dead stick.
J.T. with David's trainer.
Remember your first flights?
Here's a picture worth keeping.
Time for the parachute drop!
Jon: "hey! only
two dropped?" Who packed
that drop plane? Yup, George DeMuth did.
Luckily, only two were needed!
New member Eddy Pettyjohn gets the
once over help setting up his new
Kadet Senior for its first flight.
Thanks Super-Dave and Mose!
Eddy's plane flew
great! Look for many
more flights with this smooth plane.
Gene & the buddy on the buddy box.
The timed glide got the best of Steve
Gill's Stinger.
Not sure of the cause, radio loss or full stall.
None the less, the trees won this time.
Another casualty was Luke Zollner's
P-51
Crash was from an unknown cause,
crash/cart wheel during take off.
Luke, we feel your pain.
Late in the day and still going strong!
We had a great crowd!
Thanks to all for coming!

And the event winners were (left to
right):
Jon Little: 3 Minute Flight
at exactly 3 minutes!
David Connelly: Timed Glide of
4+ Minutes!
Steve Gill: Blind Folded Flight of 5+ Minutes
due to a great co-pliot
Thanks to all the participants!!
The 2006 Family Fun
Fly was a success!
Thanks to Dave Carlton & Jim Beam for the many pictures!
